Is your shot menu getting a little stale? Are you planning a big event that you need some new recipes for? Do you just want to add something fun to your menu? If you’re looking for some new shot recipes, we’ve compiled a list of the top 10 shots that you can feature at your bar or club…and instructions on how to make them.

Peanut Butter And Jelly

1 ounce Frangelico

1 ounce raspberry liqueur

1/2 ounce butterscotch schnapps

It’s time for peanut butter and jelly. Give your customers a trip back to their elementary days with this classic flavor. The shot layers nicely and is a great starter. No bitter taste in this peanut buttery treat.

Black Russian

1 1/2 ounce vodka

1 ounce coffee liqueur

You’ve had your white Russians before, but have you ever made a black Russian? This tweak on a classic flavor shot will have your customers wanting more. The coffee liqueur is the perfect flavor to get a night started the right way or even end it on the right note.

Cranberry Cookie

2/3 ounce cranberry juice

1/3 ounce Disaronno

It doesn’t have to be the holidays to enjoy this holiday-flavored treat. Your customers will enjoy the way that the cranberry juice blends seamlessly with the bold flavors of Disaronno.

Flaming Beaver

1/2 ounce Fireball whiskey

1/2 ounce hard cider

These two classic flavors combine together and create a drink that has just the right amount of zing and spice. The cinnamon flavors in the Fireball blend with the hard apple flavor to give your customers an almost-apple pie flavor. Down the hatch!

Cherry Cordial

2/3 ounce chocolate liqueur

1/3 ounce dark cherry rum

Sweet treats abound! The cherry cordial shot tastes just like the real thing. Consider investing in some of the top shelf chocolate liqueur. The taste will really make a difference and will give your customers the chocolaty goodness they are looking for.

Peach Tart

2 ounces peach schnapps

1/2 ounce lime juice

Sour, then sweet, just like it’s supposed to be. The lime juice is very tart, with even a touch of bitterness to it. The sweetness of the peach schnapps will take away the sour and give your customers the perfect tart taste that they are looking for. Not too sweet and not too sour.

Woo Woo

1/2 ounce peach schnapps

1/2 ounce vodka

1 ounce cherry juice

If you want your customers yelling out loud, the woo woo will give you that effect. The shot is named as such because of the noises that it elicits from the people who take it. The shot is easy to make and is not overwhelming with the taste of alcohol. Bonus: this is a legal birthday favorite.

Oil Spill

3/4  ounce Goldschlager

1/2 ounce Jagermeister on top

This beautiful combination of foreign alcohol is as delicious as it looks. The shot, though, is not for the weak. Pro tip: this one can be tricky, make sure that you give it a few tries. Be sure to let the Goldschlager sit for a few minutes before you carefully pour the Jager on top.

Irish Flag

1 ounce crème de menthe

1 ounce Irish cream liqueur

1 ounce orange liqueur

Show off your Irish pride. This St. Patrick’s Day favorite can be made any time of the year and will taste delicious no matter when you offer it to your customers. It will quickly become a favorite in the Irish and fun loving crowds. The taste is reminiscent of a certain green shake offered by your favorite golden arches.

Snake Bite

2 ounces whiskey

1/2 ounce lime juice

Venomous! This shot gives you the right whiskey flavor with the hint of lime to make it go down much easier. Adding the lime on top of the whiskey will give the lime flavor first, but the lime at the bottom gives you a zinger right after the whiskey. Make it if you dare.

We loved every one of these shots…and the field research required for learning more about them. Tell us, which one of these shots will you feature at your bar?
